NEW PATIENTS

New patients are requested to fill in a patient registration form; please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time to complete this. Alternatively, a form can be downloaded and completed prior to your visit. Please bring:
  • Referral
  • Medicare Card
  • Private Health Insurance Details
  • Government Pension Card
  • Department of Veteran Affairs - Pension Card/Gold Card
Please allow at least 1.5 hours for your initial appointment. Prior to seeing the ophthalmologist, an orthoptist will assess you and your eyes. It is usual for your pupils to be dilated with drops to allow the ophthalmologist to perform a thorough examination of your eyes. The drops can take up to 20 minutes to take effect, after which you will see the ophthalmologist, who will complete the assessment and examination.
It is advisable that you do not drive after your pupils have been dilated until your vision returns to normal (usually 2 hours after appointment).
We recommend that you bring sunglasses to your appointment to reduce glare resulting from pupillary dilatation.
Please see our information on location, parking and public transport
